We're excited to share that Maro has welcomed its first sales leader, Gabe Sechrist! 🎉 This timing reflects a palpable shift we hear in every CISO conversation: high urgency around the opportunity, and the acute problems, Generative AI is creating for the modern workforce.

But too often, people are forced to navigate these security-critical moments without real-time support. Policies describe one version of work, while actual AI-enhanced workflows look entirely different. This is the policy enforcement chasm in its purest form, and cognitive security agents are fast becoming the bridge to cross it.

Enter Gabe Sechrist, Maro's New Head of Sales
Gabe Sechrist is a seasoned cybersecurity sales leader whose career blends strategic thinking, competitive grit, and a proven passion for scaling emerging technology markets. He joins Maro to lead our Go-to-Market expansion. Born in Denver, CO. and raised in Casper, Wyoming, Gabe moved to Eugene, Oregon to attend the University of Oregon, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Finance and a minor in Philosophy.
Before entering technology, Gabe spent a decade as an investment advisor, building multi-million-dollar portfolios and developing a deep understanding of risk, decision-making, and human behavior. Seeking a new challenge, he transitioned into cybersecurity; first joining Symantec, where he discovered his talent for simplifying complex technology and scaling repeatable sales motions.
Gabe built a distinguished career inside high-growth startups, consistently playing pivotal roles in defining new cybersecurity categories. He was instrumental in scaling the Inside Sales team through SentinelOne's successful expansion into XDR and IPO. He drove over $50M in channel business at Veritas and shaped the early sales playbooks for categories like DSPM (Normalyze) and ITDR (Verosint), defining narratives now adopted industry-wide.
Gabe is renowned for designing the foundational go-to-market engines, partner strategies, and sales systems that propel early-stage companies into massive growth. A 9-time President's Club awardee, he excels at transforming complex cybersecurity concepts into compelling strategies that win customers and create lasting market presence.
On why Maro, why now...
The world has fundamentally changed. Today, human beings (not servers) are the primary targets of advanced AI-driven manipulation, social engineering, and cognitive overload. We've entered an era where the most important question is no longer ‘How do we protect data?’ but, 'How do we protect people?'
When I met Jadon, Gwen, and Jen, they were posing this same question. Maro is super unique in how it delivers real-time guardrails to guide people toward safer behavior at the exact moment they are at risk. That’s when I knew I had to join up and help pioneer cognitive security agents, a new class of security solution designed to protect people from systems and attackers that target their attention, judgment, and decision-making.
I got truly excited by what the team has already built and where we could take this thing! My new mission: to lead the charge and make cognitive security the industry's new standard for reducing human risk and creating safer workplaces from AI, with AI.
